Finding supportive resources is vital whether they are local or global. Finding a community to support you can help you make new connections in a safe environment. Some amazing resources include:
Local LGBTQIA+ Resources
- The Naper Pride Support Group: A local Naperville support group that ensures members feel safe and supported while providing access to resources they need to thrive.
- Alive with Pride Summer Club: A summer club program that provides 5th through 12th graders a place to participate in various activities and to meet new people while being in an inclusive environment.
- Pflag Dupage: A support group located in Wheaton where a community is coming together to move equality forward.
- Youth Outlook: A community organization helping to empower individuals and developing allies. They have a couple of different locations that act as drop in centers providing safe spaces for LGBTQIA+ teens to socialize and talk about significant topics.
Global LGBTQIA+ Resources
- The Trevor Project Helpline: This helpline is an LGBTQIA+ inclusive resource that allows individuals to speak to certified counselors.
- Queer Talk~ Online social hour on Meetup: An online group where LGBTQIA+ community members can connect every Wednesday evening on a program called Meetup.
- We Are The Youth: A journalism project sharing life stories of LGBTQIA+ youth in the United States.
